Isaiah 6-9

“Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear” (8:12). Judah was threatened by an alliance between northern Israel and Syria, but Isaiah told King Ahaz that pagan armies were not the problem; their real challenge was to fear and obey God (7:4). “But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread” (8:13). Faithfulness to the Holy One on heaven’s throne was what mattered (ch 6).

“I will wait for the Lord ... I will hope in Him” (v17). Our hope in God should be stronger than our worries about the world. He calls us to trust and obey.
