Ephesians 5

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (v17). Paul was not saying that the will of God is difficult to find, but instead that it is clear: “walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us” (v2). Walking in love includes fleeing from sexual immorality and “impurity or covetousness” (v3) and instead embracing what is “good and right and true” (v9). It also includes being faithful husbands and wives (v22-33) and “submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ” (v2).

“Look carefully then how you walk ...” (v15). God’s desire is that our identity as His redeemed sons and daughters should determine how we live.
