I Thessalonians 3
/“For now we live, if you are standing fast in the Lord” (v8). Paul felt deep love and responsibility for new congregations like the one in Thessalonica. He sent his co-worker Timothy to the Thessalonian church to find out if they were standing firm despite pressure and persecution, and Timothy brought back “the good news of your faith and love” (v6). Paul’s own afflictions (v3-4) paled in importance compared to his constant concern for the new believers. He prayed that the Lord would “establish your hearts blameless in holiness” (v13).
“May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all” (v12). As our love for one another increases, burdens are shared, and strength multiplies.
