I Thessalonians 4

“As you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more” (v1). Paul urged believers to embrace a new kind of life. “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality” (v3). Jesus forgave us and rescued us from sin so that we could live in holiness (v7), which isn’t just a cultural or religious rule but the call of God (v8). Along with sexual purity, believers are called to love (v9) and disciplined work (v11).

“The coming of the Lord” (v15) encourages us to live faithfully, empowered by the Spirit, so that we can rejoice when Jesus returns.
