Psalm 112
/“Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous” (v4). The psalmist observed that people who “fear the Lord” (v1) conduct their lives in a way that pleases Him. Even in dark times, they act with integrity, continuing to bless others and to act justly (v5). Despite not being in control of everything, they are “not afraid of bad news” (v7); the future is in God’s hands. Rather than leaving behind wealth or accomplishments, their legacy is a righteous life (v6).
When we “delight” in God’s commands and make Him the center of our lives (v1), lesser things can’t control us. Our hearts are firmly set on following the King (v7).
