Jeremiah 13-16
/Jeremiah is given a difficult task. He is to announce and portray the exile of God's people... his own people. This kind of preaching isolates him and gains him many enemies. He thinks it might have been better if he had never been born (15:10) than to live in such troublesome times. But the Lord promises that he is not alone and that he will be made strong like a "fortified wall of bronze" (15:20).
We don't choose the times in which we live. We may think that we are in the wrong place and wrong time. But no matter the circumstances, God recognizes our faithfulness to Him and promises us that our enemies "shall not prevail."
