Proverbs 24
/“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (v3-4). The proverbs warn us not to be envious of “the wicked” (v1), not to be tempted by their short cuts or shallow pleasures, because their efforts and plans have no real future (v20-22). Wisdom leads us to build our lives carefully on the sturdy foundation of God’s righteousness. With Him we find strength to fight our battles and the humility to listen to good counsel (v6).
“There will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off” (v14). By trusting the Lord and not ourselves, we are investing in a joyful, abundant future.
