Hebrews 6

“For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “’Surely I will bless you and multiply you’” (v13). Hebrews reassures us that our salvation rests on God’s faithfulness, not our own perfection. No matter what lies our spiritual enemy tells us about our unworthiness or what troubles we face, we can have “full assurance” and “strong encouragement” that the Jesus our High Priest is our advocate and help (v19-20). We are called to keep trusting (v19).

As we keep holding on to Jesus, believing that He will make all things new, we become “imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (v12).
