1 Peter 4
/“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace” (v10). The point of our salvation is not just the forgiveness of sins, but to set us on a new course as God’s image-bearers, living “no longer for human passions but for the will of God” (v2). Doing God’s will through the gifts He gives requires us to be “self-controlled and sober-minded” (v7), focused on the right things, that “in everything God may be glorified in Jesus Christ” (v11).
“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly ...” (v8). Love reflects God’s heart and ensures that our gifts bless each other and bring glory to Him, rather than ourselves.
