1 Peter 3
/“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind” (v8). Peter’s advice applies to marriage, church, work relationships, and witnessing to the broader society (v15). In every case, believers are called to “seek peace and pursue it” (v11), honoring God in our behavior and treating others with gentleness. This attitude is possible because we have total confidence in what Christ has done for us (v18). Knowing He loves us and has redeemed us, we don’t fear anyone or anything (v6,14).
Because we are known and accepted by God through Christ, rather than being angry or defensive, we can approach the world “with gentleness and respect” (v15).
