Ezekiel 25-28

“When your wares came from the seas, you satisfied many peoples ... now you have come to a dreadful end” (27:33-36). Tyre was an amazing, beautiful port city where people from many nations traded precious stones, wood, silk, animals, crafts, and everything under the sun. Yet this “merchant to the peoples to many coastlands” grew arrogant (27:3, ch 28) and took cruel advantage of Jerusalem’s weaknesses (26:2). The city that could have blessed the world instead lost everything (26:4).

“But I will set beauty in the land of the living” (26:20). When we reject greed and pride and submit our gifts to His authority, God uses them for blessing, not destruction.
