Ezekiel 3-5

“You shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ He who will hear, let him hear; and he who will refuse to hear, let him refuse” (3:27). Ezekiel was part of one of the first groups of Jews that were exiled to Babylonia, and God gave him the task of warning people that more destruction was coming unless they repented (ch 4). God was using the Babylonian empire to correct and discipline His people, so that they would return to Him (3:21). They were called to be His witnesses among the nations (ch 5).

“I have set her in the center of the nations” (5:5). Like Israel, we can honor or dishonor God’s name in the world by our actions.
