Matthew 12-14

“Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat” (14:16). Jesus wanted his disciples to participate in the miraculous provision he was about to accomplish, because his work was going to continue through them (Matthew 10). Yet he did not leave them alone; he prayed, broke the bread, gave it, and they distributed it. Just like Peter walking on the water (14:22-33), the disciples could only do Jesus’ work when they trusted and stayed close to him.

“Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people” (14:19). Connected to Jesus and receiving from him, we have what we need to bless others.
