Psalm 113

“Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?” (5-6). The psalmist expressed amazement that the Creator “stoops down” to observe the universe and comes down even further for our sakes. The Maker of everything does not ignore the weak or side with winners; instead, He “raises the poor from the dust ... and seats them with princes ... He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children” (9).

“Let the name of the Lord be praised” (2). When we grasp that the Creator of stars and oceans love us and acts for our good, we respond in praise.
