Psalm 112
/“Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands” (1). Those who “fear” the Lord, according to the psalmist, love and trust Him enough to pattern their lives according to His ways of generosity, compassion, and righteousness (4). This trust in the Lord leads to a deep security (7); they will “never be shaken” and have “no fear of bad news” (6-7). The ultimate outcome of their lives does not depend on worldly success or pleasing people, but on the God whose goodness will win (8).
“Their hearts are secure” (8). Through Christ we belong to God, now and for eternity. Because our Father cares for us, we can love, serve, and give freely.
