Psalm 61
/“From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint” (2). Feeling weak in body and mind, the psalmist meditated on the ways that God reveals himself as our help. He is the Rock that is higher than we are (2), providing protection and security. He is “a strong tower against the foe” (3), a place we can hide from danger. God provides a “tent” of goodness, strength, and mercy for us to rest in, and like a mother bird he spreads his “wings” over us (4).
“I long to dwell in your tent forever” (4). Spending time in the Lord’s presence helps us become aware of his faithful love and unshakeable strength surrounding us.
