Isaiah 32-35
/“The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever” (32:17). To a people threatened by mighty empires and tempted to lean on the wrong things, Isaiah declared that God was the source of true peace and security. When God’s Spirit is poured out (32:15), his people live without fear: making homes and doing their work, even though storms surround them (32:18-20). Isaiah called on the Israelites to take courage and trust the Lord. “Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way” (35:3).
When our own hearts are fearful, Isaiah reminds us that the Lord is our rock. “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come” (35:4).
