I Thessalonians 2

“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well” (8). The previously idol-worshiping Thessalonicans (1:9) had experienced real transformation in both belief and behavior. Paul said this was because the apostles shared the gospel and, by their daily lives, showed what it looked like to follow Jesus. Instead of simply offering information or giving orders, the apostles were like young children, nursing mothers, and encouraging fathers (7,11-12). They welcomed the new believers into a new family.

We help one another “live lives worthy of God” (12) by sharing truth and opening our hearts, allowing Christ to be seen through our daily lives.
