Micah 1-7
/“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (6:8). The prophet Micah pointed out that Israel’s leaders were greedily seizing homes and lands “because it is in their power to do it” (2:1-2). Although most prophets told lies for financial gain, Micah told the truth: God was “planning disaster” (2:3) against his own people. However, God also promised that out of Bethlehem would come a special ruler, “and he will be our peace” (5:5).
Because God “delights to show mercy” (7:18), sin was not the final word. The promised Messiah showed us how to “act justly and love mercy”, and he became our peace. instead (6:14)
