Isaiah 6-10
/“Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear” (8:12). Isaiah told God’s people that they were allowing their fears to drive them in the wrong direction. Rather than leaning on God’s strength and provision, they were relying on ungodly sources of power. But in the day of disaster, Isaiah asked, “to whom will you run for help?” (10:3). Instead, the Lord “is the one you are to regard as holy ...the one you are to fear” (8:12-13).
Israel discovered that the world’s leaders and answers are not a firm foundation in times of trouble. But we have the Messiah, the “WonderfulCounselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (9:6).
