Isaiah 11-16
/“The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might” 11:2). Although Israel’sleaders failed to follow God and pagan nations threatened them, their sin was not the end of the story. God promised to send a Savior, a real King. Moab and other nations, just like Israel, experienced loss and judgment, but Isaiah said they would one day gather around this new King (11:10), and his throne would be established in love (16:5).
We have the chance to serve this King now, through the Spirit. When he claims the whole earth, “they will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain” (11:9).
