Psalm 125

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever” (1). Except for the Lord, everything else that humans rely on can be shaken: governments, jobs, finances, relationships, health, and even our own capabilities. God alone “endures forever,” and when we make Him our refuge, we are secure (2). And as citizens of the unshakeable “Kingdom of the Son” (Col 1:13), the words and example of Jesus guide our choices – rather than another “scepter” or rule (3).

“So the Lord surrounds His people” (2). The world’s structures are always shaking and changing, but God’s people remain secure. We are not only safe but also empowered to love, sacrifice, and serve like our King.
