Philippians 4
/“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable ... think about such things” (8). Part of Paul’s “secret of being content” in any circumstance was how he stewarded his own thoughts (12). He taught that not filling our minds with constant bad news, complaining, or negativity means we have opportunity to focus on what is “excellent” and “admirable.” And we are not alone in the battle; as we rejoice and pray, the peace of Jesus guards us (4-7).
“Put it into practice” (9). We face choices daily about how to “practice” contentment. Always, the Holy Spirit is at our side, guiding us into truth and wholeness.
