Psalm 76-77
/Psalm 76 shows a God in charge of all things (76:7,8). Yet often we experience something quite different, and we wonder if God is there or if “His promise” has failed (77:7-9). The Psalmist courageously admits his questions in prayer, and something happens when he does. Emptying himself of questions, he remembers God’s faithful “deeds” (77:11-12). He recalls how God “performs miracles” (77:14).
When our present situation seems at odds with the goodness of God, we can remember His past faithfulness. The surest proof that God will keep His promise is that He has always been true to His word. Above all we know that if God has given us His Son, He will “gracious give us all things” (Rom 8:32).
