Numbers 24-30

“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel! Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river ...” (24:5-6). No matter how much money Balak offered the prophet Balaam, he could only speak the Lord’s blessing over Israel (23:12). Israel was God’s nation, under his care, a way to show the world his awesome reality. When they acted like pagans, he punished them (25:9), but he led the survivors into the Promised Land so that they could live and thrive according to his commands (ch 28-29).

“Their seed will have abundant water” (24:7). God forgives us, adopts us, and makes us “his people” so that we can live abundant lives according to his design.
