Acts 18
/“He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately” (26). Acts shows us that the ministry of the early church was a ‘team sport.” While Paul had a unique role, he worked alongside Silas and Timothy (5), and Titius Justus opened his home for church gatherings (7). Apollos, meanwhile, knew the Scriptures and had great communication gifts, but needed Priscilla and Aquila to teach him more.
“I have many people in this city” (10). Rather than relying on a few spiritual ‘rockstars,’ as members of Christ’s Body, we each have gifts that are necessary for the health of the church.
