Numbers 9-15
/“Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped” (9:17). The Israelites in the wilderness were vulnerable because they had no regular sources of water and food or fields to cultivate. Yet, they had the miraculous presence of God, his clear guidance, and his daily provision of manna. However, they struggled to believe that he was enough for them. He wanted to lead them to an “exceedingly good” land (14:6), but they could only arrive there through faith in him.
God wants to give us an abundant life, “flowing with milk and honey,” but not on our terms (14:8). We must walk by faith in the One who leads us.
