Hebrews 3

“Fix your thoughts on Jesus” (1). Hebrews tells us that what we believe about Jesus shapes our trust and devotion to Him. The Israelites who were rescued from Egypt had “unbelieving hearts” that caused them to turn away from God (10,12,19). Hebrews urges believers to “fix our thoughts” on the faithfulness of the eternal Son (1), our “apostle” (sent to us by God) and “high priest” (who brings us to God). We “share in” Christ’s perfect fellowship with the Father when we trust Him for our salvation.

“And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence ...” (6). When we trust and follow the Son, we can be confident of our place in the Father’s house.
