Psalms 100-101
/“Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (100:1). Being God’s people, according to the psalmist, is both an identity and a practice. We belong to him because he created us and loves us, and we live out this belonging by our day to day choices. We worship, singing of God’s “love and justice” (101:1), and we “conduct the affairs of our house” with attention to God’s ways (101:2).
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever” (100:5). The closer we walk with the Lord, the more his character transforms our hearts and habits, making us “the sheep of his pasture.”
