Psalm 45-46
/“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (1). The psalmist affirmed that trouble is part of life in a broken world. Yet, “we will not fear”, even when chaos threatens - “though the earth give way and mountains fall into the heart of the sea” (2). When circumstances bring distress, we can find peace in “the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells” (4). As we take refuge in his presence, he says, “Be still and know that I am God” (10).
“God is within her; she will not fall” (5). United with Christ, we are citizens of God’s holy, eternal city, and nothing can separate us from his love (Heb 12:22).
