Daniel 6-12

“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed ...” (6:10). Daniel served the Babylonian king faithfully, and he was “neither corrupt nor negligent” (6:4). Yet his personal faith was the priority of his life. When ‘worship’ of the king was demanded, Daniel ignored the threats, went home, and prayed to the Lord as always.

Daniel’s visions prophesied trouble for those who love God (ch 7-12). But: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever” (12:3).
