Joshua 12-14
/“The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my Godwholeheartedly” (14:9). Caleb reminded Joshua that they both had received promises from God 45 years earlier. When the rest of the Israelites were terrified of the Canaanites, Caleb and Joshua had believed in God’s power. Now 85, Caleb was “just as vigorous” as he was then, and he wanted to finish the task. His whole-hearted faith in God sustained him for every new challenge.
With “the Lord helping me”, Caleb declared he would finish the task God gave him (14:12). What mattered was not his age or situation, but God’s power to save.
