Ephesians 4-5
/“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (4:31-32). Paul taught that as citizens of heaven, we should live in a manner worthy of our holy calling (4:1). Speaking to Jews and Gentiles (ch 1), he characterized this life not by circumcision or cultural codes, but by a deeper change: the transformation of our attitudes, words, and relationships. “Put off the old self ... put on the new self” (4:22-24).
The Spirit helps us become disciples of Jesus. “Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us” (5:1).
