Proverbs 8-15

“Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight” (9:6). Because we were designed to live in God’s kingdom (8:14-21), when we honor his ways rather than the world’s sinful patterns, we thrive. What appear to be shortcuts or secret keys to happiness usually end in destruction. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out” (10:9). Wealth and sinful pleasures are “worthless in the day of wrath” (11:4): eternity will reveal what is valuable.

“For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her” (8:11). Wisdom begins with fearing and following God, who through Christ has opened the door to abundant life.
