Acts 14

We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news ...” (15). Paul and Barnabas firmly rejected the people of Lystra’s adoration of them, urging them to turn from “worthless things” to the Creator God. Despite terrible persecution, many in the region believed, and the apostles organized them into churches and appointed leaders (23), believing Jesus would guide them. Paul and Barnabas kept traveling, “strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith” (21-22).

“We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God” (22). When our eyes are on Jesus, rather than human leaders, his Spirit helps us endure hardships, grow in maturity, and “remain true” to the end.
