“You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?” (10). During Paul’s missionary journeys, resistance to the gospel took many forms. On Cyprus, a “Jewish sorcerer” opposed them, knowing their message would undermine his own power (6). In Pisidian Antioch, although some believed, the “God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city” expelled the missionaries from the region. Yet “the word of the Lord spread” (49).

“Through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you” (38). Whether our temptation is chasing false spiritualities or relying on our own moral uprightness, Jesus offers forgiveness when we repent. He is the only way of salvation.
