Job 28-34

Job begins these chapters referencing man’s unending quest for gold that one must dig to find. God has also given wisdom, but man can only discover it through the fear of the Lord (28:28)

In chapters 29-31, Job, in essence, says, “I can think of nothing I have done to cause what I am experiencing.” In fact, he was right. Elihu, a young man who has listened until now, finally speaks. He is angry at Job because he justified himself (33:8,9), and at the others, because they had no real answer. It turns out that while Elihu had good things to say, because he did not know the big picture (1:8-12), he still missed the point. He lacked the qualification for wisdom, the fear of the Lord.
