Amos 7-9, Obadiah

“And Israel surely will go into exile” (7:17). Amos continued his sermon about God’s people being no different than the culture around them. Even the king and the priest stand condemned (7:10-17). God’s people have lost their way, more concerned for personal gain that doing what is right and good (8:4-6). Tragically, Israel experienced great harm and loss due to their actions.

However, Amos declared: “New wine will flow, and I will bring my people Israel back from exile” (9:13-14). When we turn to him, God does not allow sin to have the last word in our lives. He wants to bring us “back from exile” and restore us to life (9:14).
