Psalm 30
/“To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy” (8). The psalmist faced difficulties that brought him to the end of himself, even feeling as if God has abandoned him, leaving him “dismayed” (7). In the presence of God, he recognized that his trials were “for a moment, but the favor of God “lasts a lifetime” (5). His trials taught him that God hears and responds to the simplest prayer: “Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help” (10).
“I called to you for help, and you healed me” (2). God is attentive to our cries for help and turns our “wailing to dancing.” Momentary trials are not the final word, for he will “clothe us with joy” (11).
