Psalm 32-33

Praise and worship are energized by many different factors. These two Psalms come from different immediate experiences but flow together in their final expressions (32:11 and 33:22). Psalm 32 deals with sin and transgression, and their corrosion of the spirit when not confessed to God but when confessed, are forgiven (vs3-6). David’s celebration, quoted in Romans 4:7 and 8, speaks of blessings when sin is forgiven.

Psalm 33 leads in a song of praise based on God’s Word being upright, his work in faithfulness to us, and his creation, by the Word, that is filled with his lovingkindness (33:1-5). We not only trust his past work, but his present and future plans for us. “Be glad…rejoice… shout… hope” (32:11, 33:21,22)! It is only fitting.
