Isaiah 26-27

“We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts” (26:1). Isaiah prophesied that, one day, God’s people would realize His salvation was their true security, not armies or idols. When Israel faced internal or external threats and tried to handle it with the world’s weapons, their efforts failed; they “gave birth to wind” (26:18). God was the One who established lasting peace: “all that we have accomplished, You have done for us” (26:12).

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (26:3). We find real peace when we stop chasing the world’s idols – security, pleasure, success on our terms – and instead fully entrust ourselves to the Lord.
