Psalm 34

“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all” (19). The psalmist tells us that “righteous people” – God’s people - have fears and troubles like everyone else, but they can be certain of God’s care. When we seek the Lord, he hears us (15), and he answers (4). The key, as the psalmist tells us, is to run to him during our difficulties and confidently expect help. “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (8).

“Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing” (10). In Christ we are sure of “good things”: his love, his forgiveness, and his powerful presence in this life and the next.
