I Corinthians 4-5
/“For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival ... with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (5:7-8). Paul urged the Corinthian believers to confront the immorality in their midst (5:1). Jesus’ sacrifice had made them acceptable to God; now they had to reject their old ways and embrace “sincerity and truth.” Paul wanted them to concentrate on holiness inside the church. “What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?” (5:12).
“Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough” (5:6). As part of a Body, our behavior affects one another, and we are called to help one another toward holiness.
