Psalm 143
/“Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails” (7). The psalmist cried out for mercy and “relief” from the Lord (1), because he felt battered by forces beyond his control (3). He was “dismayed” and lacked inner strength (4); on his own, he was powerless. But he threw himself on God’s unfailing love, trusting in God’s promises to rescue us and show us the right path. Because he loves us, God teaches us his own ways, which – when we obey - bring stability and peace to our lives (8-10).
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love” (8). At the right time, God breaks through our suffering and gives us a glimpse of his wonderful love.
