1 Kings 15-22
/“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him” (18:21). The kings of Judah and Israel often “did evil in the eyes of the Lord” (15:26), and people were torn between the God of Abraham and their familiar idols. King Asa even had to depose his own grandmother (15:13) who was leading others astray. After years of drought, Elijah called on God to send rain, so that people could see He was the only living God.
God intervenes and does miracles to turn our “hearts back again” to him (18:37). Like Asa and the Israelites, the time comes when we must choose him.
