Psalm 73

“But as for me, my feet had almost slipped ... for I envied the arrogant” (2-3). Like the psalmist, most of us have experienced moments of disappointment or doubt that led to questioning our faith. Is our obedience “in vain” (13)? The psalmist’s questions drove him to “the sanctuary of God” (16-17), where the Lord held his hand and guided him into truth (21-24). He realized that nothing on heaven or earth could satisfy him except knowing God (25).

“My flesh and my heart may fail ...” (26). We may doubt and question and fail, but God’s strength and love are enough to help us stand firm.
