Jeremiah 31-35

“I have loved you with an everlasting love” (31:3). Even during the Babylonians siege, invasion, and the ruin of Jerusalem, God spoke words of hope through the prophet Jeremiah. He told people about to go into exile that he would make a way for them to return; he promised forgiveness and restoration for those who would seek him. Zion (Jerusalem), God’s city, would be rebuilt, and humble people would find refuge there: “the blind and the lame, expectant mothers and women in labor; a great throng will return” (31:8).

“I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble” (31:9). Our Father welcomes us home with open arms and shows us the right way.
