Psalm 27

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling” (5). The psalmist rejoiced that God was actively, powerfully with him through the dangers of life, and therefore he could face the world with confidence. “Though an army besiege me, I will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident” (3). Even more, in the chaos of life, the psalmist sought the peace of dwelling in God’s presence and meditating on his beauty (4). Attacking armies and even war could not separate him from fellowship with the Lord.

“Your face Lord, I will seek” (8). In the midst of “the day of trouble”, when we seek God sincerely, we find him.
