Psalm 28
/“To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock ... For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit” (1). The psalmist begged God not to be silent, not to ignore all that was wrong in the world. He felt oppressed by the “evil work” of people who smiled on the outside but “harbored malice in their hearts” (3-5). Yet rather than taking judgment on himself, he trusted God to see clearly and judge rightly. Meanwhile, he leaned on God as “strength and shield” (7).
“My heart trusts in him, and he helps me” (7). No matter what chaos is swirling, we can trust the Judge, who is also the Redeemer. He is at work to put things right.
