Psalm 9
/“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you” (10). The psalmist assured God’s people that they could trust in his enduring, never-ending faithfulness toward them. He would “remember” them (12); he would “never forget the needy” (18). God’s “remembering” meant that he noticed them, saw their troubles, and would come to their rescue. In contrast, the wicked, those who “forget” God, will be forgotten by him (17); “even the memory of them has perished” (6).
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (9). The Lord knows our names and the details of our lives; he remembers and takes seriously all our prayers.
